RIYADH — The Saudi non-oil goods exports have surged to SR176,568 in 2011 compared with SR134,610 in 2010, an increase of 31 percent, the General Statistics and Information Department said in a report.

Export volume amounted to 48,724 thousand tons compared with 46,247 thousand tons in 2010, an increase of 5 percent.

The department said the petrochemical products were among the most important exports in 2011, which amounted to SR60,948, representing 34 percent, followed by plastic products in the amount of SR53,950 at 31 percent, then the foodstuffs in the amount of SR12,605, representing 7 percent, the re-exported goods reached SR24,379, representing 14 percent and other goods amounted to SR24,686, representing 14 percent. China is the destination of most of those goods, the report said. — SG/SPA
