JEDDAH — Singer Balqees Ahmed Fathi sent a message to her former fiancé Naif Hazzazi, a Saudi footballer who plays for Al-Ittihad and the Saudi national team as a striker.



In the message, which was aired on the MBC sport’s program “Sada Al-Malaeb”, the Emirati singer of Yemeni descent said, “I wish him all the success. We were not meant to be and this is what destiny had planned for us. Out of respect for him and his family, I have no further comments on our separation.”



Balqees spoke highly of Hazzazi and said there was a point in time where she believed he was the best man in the world. When asked what team she supports, she declined to answer but said she is a big fan of the Saudi Professional League. – SG
