JAZAN — A Saudi high school student here found a way to use his family’s desire to see him graduate from high school to his advantage. A local daily reported that the high school senior told his family he wouldn’t sit for final exams unless they arranged for him to get married. The young man’s family initially refused on account of his young age and advised him to concentrate on his exams. Not budging from their respective positions, the two sides eventually came to a compromise: The high school student gets engaged now but the wedding will be held after he graduates. The young man was reportedly busy studying hard for his final exams. — SG
