JEDDAH — One of the six suspects being tried for bribery and misuse of aerial photographs of a plot of land in Dhahban for illegal deals was confronted with incriminating documents by the Chairman of the Judicial Circuit at the Board of Grievances here Sunday.

The suspect, who is a retired employee of a services sector, was shown documents proving that he owned six contracting companies and establishments specializing in sanitary drainage and services and housing projects.

The suspect denied any relationship with employees of the mayoralty charged with him in the case. He also claimed that he had never seen those documents and that he obtained commercial registers for his companies after retirement.

He claimed that the money circulated between them through their accounts was part of real estate investments, and alleged that their previous confessions were taken under duress during investigations.

Another suspect in the case said that his visit to Jeddah Mayoralty several years ago coincided with a transaction for a plot of land on behalf of another person. He said that the plot of land for which they are being tried was not the one he visited the mayoralty for.
