The Movenpick Beach Resort Al-Khobar won its second consecutive SETA award when the acclaimed resort received the award for “Best Specialized Accommodation” at the Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards ceremony in Riyadh. The category is open to resorts, holiday villages, golf clubs, equestrian centres, marinas and hotels offering specialized recreation or accommodation facilities.



Turki Al Muhaisen, owning company representative of the resort, received the award. “This is a fitting tribute to the tremendous efforts of the entire team at the Movenpick Beach Resort Al-Khobar. Collecting a second award within two years of our opening is a firm acknowledgement of our team’s commitment to quality, excellence and personalized care for our guests.”



Markus Marti, the property’s general manager, also attended the event.

Among 600 contestants at the 2013 Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards (SETA), only 27 received awards this year after more than a quarter of a million online votes were cast.



The number of contestants has more than doubled since the first event in 2011, making Movenpick Beach Resort Al-Khobar’s retention of the “Best Specialized Accommodation” award even more commendable. — SG
