Three-day meet to bring together epidemiologists

JEDDAH – Under the support of Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the Saudi Society for Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases will hold its three-day annual conference beginning Monday at Park Hyatt Hotel in Jeddah.



Dr. Nizar Bahabri, director of the society in the western region, said the conference message is “Rescue society”. He added that this conference, which is held annually, is considered to be an important meeting point for specialists in infectious diseases and microbiology from different parts of the Kingdom.



Speakers from several regions and cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk, Abha, Jazan and Dammam will participate in the meeting and exchange expertise on treatment and prevention.



Bahabri said a number of specialists in the field of infectious diseases will discuss the nature of these diseases in the Kingdom and the antibiotics used to treat them around the world. Apart from this, they will discuss the problems that occur due to the incorrect use of antibiotics. The conference will be accompanied by over 15 workshops.
