YANBU — The Yanbu leg of the Moneygram Cricket Ke Badshah 6-Over Kingdom-wide Tournament began here recently.
The event is sponsored by Moneygram and organized by Yanbu Al-Sinayah Cricket Association (YACA) under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC). In all, 16 teams are fighting for the honors here. The teams have been divided into four groups.
Group A
Kashmir-XI achieved the winning target of 34 for the loss of one wicket against Cristal. In another match, Shah-XI posted 48 and Netpet achieved victory with a blistering knock of Amer (36).
Other results: Netpet (50-4) lost to Cristal by three wickets (Zeeshan 2 wickets). Shah-XI (42-3) lost to Kashmir-XI (46-2).
Group B
Saudi-XI, batting first against Pak Crescent B, produced 51-4 mainly through Junaid (32). Raja Fahad took 2 wickets. Pak Crescent B won by scoring 52-3. In another match, G.T. Warriors piled up 74-3 against Punjab-XI. Sabir hit 29. Punjab-XI, in reply, was stranded at 56-1.
Other results: Saudi-XI 53-2 (Junaid 35). G.T. Warriors 54 for no loss (Anwar 39). Punjab-XI 63-3 (Luqman 46). Pak Crescent 49 (Asghar 2-9).
Group C
Kabbani-XI made 79 for no loss through Aijaz Butt (59 - 4x3, 6x3). Health Club was then restricted to 36 as Amer and Ahsan scalped 2 wickets each. In another match, Pak Green managed 43 against Indoor Riders as Azher took 2 wickets. Indoor Riders, in reply, were home with 49 for no loss. Wasi remained 43 not out.
Other results: Pak Green 33 all out (Muneeb 2 wickets) lost to Health Club 34 for 1. Indoor Riders 59-1 (Wasi 43) defeated Kabbani 47 all out. Indoor Riders 64-2 (Wasi 45) lost to Health Club 69-2. Kabbani-XI 50 all out (Ahsan 35, Sanaullah 2 wickets) lost to Pak Green 51-2 (Asad 44 n.o.).
Group D
Jotun Paints batted first against Pak Crescent A and tallied 47-2 with Akbar making 35. Pak Crescent A, in reply, hit 49-1 through Mohsin Shah’s 29. In another match, Yanbua Youth posted 50-3 but Pak Crescent A coasted home making 51-2. Royal Commission recorded 43-4 against Jotun Paints in another encounter. Tanveer grabbed 2 wickets for one run. In reply, Jotun Paints won by making 47-2.
Other results: Royal Commission 60-1 (Rana 30) lost to Pak Crescent A 64-1. Yanbu Youth 66-1 (Salman 34) lost to Royal Commission 67-3. Yanbu Youth 63-1 lost to Jotun Paints 69-1 (Akbar 30).
