CAIRO – Famous Egyptian actress Shadiya, was admitted to the intensive care unit of Al-Safa Hospital in Cairo following severe chest infection and flu. Over the past several years, the 78-year old Shadiya would spend the last ten days of Ramadan between Makkah and Madinah, and return to Egypt after performing the rituals of Hajj. Shadiya left the world of acting and singing in 1987. — SG
