JEDDAH – A religious campaign titled “Want to Travel? Take Us With You!” – which seeks to spread Islam – kicked off recently. The campaign is part of activities and initiatives of the e-Dialogue Center in the Eastern Province.

The campaign utilizes simple cards that contain messages which introduce Islam to non-Muslims and help them understand the culture related to it. Announced on Friday, over 14,000 cards have already been published and distributed to those traveling abroad this summer.

According to Majed Al-Osaimi, head of the e-Dialogue Center, since the center was established in 2011, they set four goals of which three have already been fulfilled. They include creating online religious dialogue through their website, e-academy for new converts and training people to carry out Dawah work. The fourth goal is to produce short, educational clips on Islam.

Over the past two years the center has aided 2.5 million people and over 700 million viewed its advertisements. “Some do not accept Islam and we are not here to compel them to become Muslims. That is why we started the dialogue by giving people a chance to talk before we offer what we have,” said Al-Osaimi.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Sharif, an Islamic researcher, believes the only way to introduce Islam to others is through good manners.

“That is how Islam was introduced to communities in Indonesia and India. Islam was conveyed to others through the positive behaviors of traders who were approaching the Far East,” he said.
