HAIL — Homes that have long been abandoned by their owners are attracting criminals, drug peddlers and illegal workers.



Several residents who spoke to Okaz/Saudi Gazette said abandoned homes that can be found in many neighborhoods in Hail should be secured by their owners so as not to attract drug addicts or illegal aliens looking for temporary shelter.



Residents said owners should remodel the homes and rent them out to low-income families and called on the Hail Municipality to pursue owners and force them to secure the buildings.



Hail Police spokesman Col. Abdulaziz Al-Zenaidi said residents should report any suspicious activities to police immediately.
