RIYADH —  All Indian nationals who have obtained Emergency Certificates (ECs)/Out passes from the embassy have been advised to obtain their exit visas from Tarheels immediately.  "Anyone who overstays their visa in Saudi Arabia beyond the grace period will face penal action including jail sentence, penalty and deportation with a ban on re-entry," the Indian embassy said in a press release issued Sunday.



"The embassy again urges all overstaying Indian nationals to avoid such a situation by availing the 'concessions’ announced by the Saudi authorities during the grace period which ends on July 3, 2013," the press release said.



All those who have obtained ECs from the embassy will have their original passports canceled. They will not be able to travel out of India using their old passports, even if the date of expiry on their passports shows validity. Anyone wanting to change their jobs  in Saudi Arabia could obtain new passports after following the necessary procedures. New passports will be issued to such applicants at VFS Counters in Umm Al Hammam and Batha in Riyadh within three working days, the embassy said.



All Indian nationals who have applied for ECs have been advised to collect the same from the embassy on the dates allotted to them. All ECs should be collected on or before June 20.



"It is reiterated that all those who have collected their ECs should obtain exit visas from Tarheels immediately and leave the country," the embassy said.



Meanwhile, Indian consular teams will be visiting Abha (Khamis Mushayat) and Tabuk on June 20  to provide Emergency Certificate services to the Indian nationals.



In Abha, the team will have its office at Al-Janoub International School (Telephone: 07-2383358 and 2383359).



In Tabuk, the team will establish its office at Hotel Sehab (Telephone: 04-4211534), a press release issued by the consulate in Jeddah said.
