Gouyette inaugurates French Food Festival

French Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia François Gouyette inaugurated the weeklong French Food Festival Goût de France (Good France) organized by the Intercontinental Hotel Riyadh at the Al Bustan Restaurant.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambasaador Gouyette said, “France is very important partner of Saudi Arabia in agro food, and French companies are very active and invested a lot in Saudi Arabia. Our trade volume is about 10 billion especially in Aeronautics, food, machineries, equipment and poultry sectors that are the main areas of trade.”

In responseto a question, the Ambassador mentioned that France had given 130,000 visas to the Saudis and added, “We have great interest in promotion of varieties of dates from Saudi Arabia in France.”

Tareq Yoused Dowidar, area general manager of International Hotels Group, expressed his deep gratitude on the inauguration of French Food Festival. “French are very famous for their delicious cuisine so we decided to bring one of their best and well know celebrity Chef Laurent Bunel to Saudi Arabia so our people can experience the variety and the deliciousness of French food,” Dowaidar said.

Bunel has a vast culinary experience at InterContinental Cannes, France. He delighted the food lovers with his expertise and shared the taste of France, during the inauguration. “When you sit down to eat, take some time to breathe, forget your daily worries, close your eyes and put down your cutlery after each mouthful, identify the different flavors and feels the taste,” said chef Bunel.

French Food Festival Goût de France (Good France) will continue till March 28 at the Al Bustan Restaurant of Intercontinental Hotel Riyadh.
