NEW YORK — Samsung Electronics has officially launched Samsung›s 2017 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, during ‹Unpacked› press event that was held in New York on Wednesday.
Galaxy S8 with its special new design will be in the Saudi market soon in different colors including, orchid gray, midnight black, and coral blue.
Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Public Relations Manager for Saudi Arabia, Qusai Mukhtar said “the Galaxy S8 had just been globally announced in the USA and it will be available in countries around the world, including Saudi Arabia, during the coming weeks.”
The smartphone has a bigger screen size comparing to Galaxy S7. The screen size for S8 is 5.8 inches while S8+ has 6.2 inches screen size.
“The Galaxy S8 has a bundle of new features that will definitely make it stand out, such as the infiniti screen, that sports an 18.5:9 ratio which makes it the closest cinematic experience a consumer can get on a smart phone, not to mentioned the aesthetic part of having a phone that has a 5.8” screen for the S8 and 6.2” for the S8+ with a very ergonomic grip and so much good of a design to look at,” he added.
One of the special features of Galaxy S8 is ‹Bixby›, the new intelligent assistant.
Mukhtar said “Bixby, the new assistant, can now do so much more than the rest, like complex voice commands. I mean, instead of going into the settings menu and look for the right tab that has the brightness settings, you can simply ask Bixby to set the brightness to max and it would magically do that for you.”
He added that Bixby has several tasks, including searching for answers, reminding you of your daily schedules or with your daily phone calls, showing you the latest pictures in the phone gallery, and much more. For example, if the smart phone user took a photo of a book, Bixby could show the person details about it and it would also show him where to buy it online.
“The S8 has a new great accessory, a fine addition to Samsung›s ecosystem , like the Gear VR and the new Gear 360. I am talking about the Samsung Dex, “ he added.
By using Samsung Dex, S8 users could be utilizing the smartphone easily like a computer through connecting it to an external display, mouse, and keyboard.
