JEDDAH — The Agencies Team edged the Consulate Officers Team by one point to claim the Inter-Agency Ping Pong Tournament title at the Consulate General of Malaysia here recently.

The consulate had organized the event in close collaboration with the Consulate Sports and Welfare Club. The third team in the event was the Consulate Staff Team.

The inaugural games provided an ample opportunity to all to enjoy the recreational activity in the true spirit of sportsmanship and portray the close esprit de corps and camaraderie among the participating teams.

With 8 players per team, the games were held in 4 singles and 2 doubles. After three hours of outstanding and power serving, strokes and smashing the Agencies team out-smarted the Consulate Officers Team, headed by the Consul General Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, by one point to emerge as the champion.

The consul general presented trophies to the winners and the event concluded with a luncheon.
