BAHA — Saudi Aramco recently held public speaking services in speech therapy for 500 people of both genders as part of the cultural activities of the summer (Baha 34) launched by Prince Mishari Bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Baha region.



Mohammed Mashat, deputy director of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the Western Region, said: “Summer programs included several training courses for both genders that meet market requirements and promote a culture of thought and knowledge in an interestingly flexible manner”. He invited everyone to take advantage of these courses aimed in upgrading skills of the participants.



Toastmasters International communication skills, speech and association speakers are professionals actively involved in the program to train 500 participants and to define the art of public speaking and to remove the stage fear in the gatherings. This is a first program in the region which gives pointers on the basic art of oratory skills and self-confidence. “Saudi Aramco is always keen to participate in summer cultural activities," Mashat said.



He added that any Toastmasters club consists of 20 members; they meet once every week or every two weeks for an hour or two. It gives an opportunity to each member to manage meetings and learn to order, plan and effectively manage meetings. For speech improvement, training is provided on the art of communication. The meetings build the structure of the engagement, and the use of voice, words, rhetoric, movement of the body, influence, which are all evaluated for every speaker.



Dima, coach of Toastmasters club, traced the history of Toastmasters club.“The first club was founded on 22 October 1924 in San Ana, California by Ralph C. Smedley, who invented and developed the idea of helping others to learn communication skills and public speaking more effectively," he said.
