By Abdulaziz Al-Suwaiegh Al-Madina A "ridiculous" joke from an Indian head of household made to a security staff at the Munich airport in southern Germany, as reported by news reports recently, caused his deportation directly back to India .. According to the police, the 42-year-old Indian traveler was traveling with his family from Mumbai to Bucharest. When his wife underwent a routine search for explosives, the man repeatedly said she had a bomb. Although the man confirmed to the security authorities at the airport, after being detained and interrogated on charges of disturbing public peace by threatening to commit a crime, that he was only joking, and the airport security authorities immediately returned him to his country while allowing his family members to continue their journey to Hungary. This situation reminded me of a similar position taken by a former friend immediately after September 11, 2001 incident while on board a plane going back to his country. Our friend called one of the flight attendants and told her jokingly that he carries a bomb in his bag !! The man was on his seat in the plane only less than a minute and suddenly security men entered the plane and took him away. They took him to the airport interrogation room for hours during which the plane took off and arrived at its destination while his ridiculous joke caused embarrassing delays disrupting his itinerary. It is strange that this friend repeated another ridiculous joke, this time in a larger forum, which led him to a more embarrassing situation and made him resign from his prestigious job!
