Everyone is responsible to keep the environment clean: EAEO new head

JEDDAH — The Euro-Arab Environment Organization’s (EAEO) newly appointed head Engineer Ibrahim Abdul Ghaffar Jamjoom said everyone of us is responsible to keep the environment clean.

He was speaking at the EAEO’s flag handover ceremony held at the resident of Ambassador Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Subai here recently.

A number of ambassadors, diplomats VIPs included Gen. (R) Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Al-Juhani, honorary consul of the Republic of the Congo, vice president of the council of honorary consuls, Tarek Al-Obaid, secretary general of the organization, Mazin Abdulwahab Kurdi, legal advisor, head of legal affairs EAEO Geneva, Farid Sindi, Saud Mustafa Al-Juhani, Dr. Syed Al-Kholi, Dr. Fahad Turkistani, Dr. Faisal Alvi, Dr. Mohammed Osman Malabari and others attended the ceremony.

Jamjoom informed the audience that the EAEO will organize in December a two days tourism environmental conference in Cairo-Egypt to highlight the role of tourism in the Arab countries.

The event is likely to be held on Dec.19 to 21.

He further said that to avoid environmental pollution and improve the environment more seminars on a large scale will also be organized.

Prof. Dr. Salah Al-Muzaini. who belong to Kuwait and a former head, shed light on the performance of the organization.

He said EAEO was formed 10 years back. During this period we organized many seminars and addressed important environmental issues in the Arab countries.

He congratulated Ibrahim Abdul Ghaffar Jamjoom on his appointment as a new head of EAEO in his place and wished him all the success.

Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Gen. (R) Dr. Mohammed said the main objective in forming the organization is to create awareness, modernize and bring modern technology from Europe to Arab countries in order to protect the environment.

Earlier the proceeding began with recitation of few verses from Holy Qur’an.

EAEO is a Geneva, Switzerland, based organization specialized in environmental development and sustainable development in Arab and European countries. It is a nongovernmental and nonprofit organization.
