JEDDAH — Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA), at a recent meeting with its chief patron in a local restaurant, took stock of their activities and future plans, while unveiling its Vision 2020.
JCA Executive Committee members met with their Chief Patron Khaled Almaeena and briefed him about their activities since inception — the total of ten years duration in general and Saudi Premier League (SPL) Cup activities in particular.
JCA President Aijaz Ahmed Khan, during the introduction, thanked the Chief Patron Almaeena for his constant support. He also thanked Saudi Gazette Executive Editor Ramnarayan Iyer and Syed Mukassir Bukhari Group, business director Quartz Communications, for their presence.
Khan introduced the JCA Executive Committee members to the guests and elaborated on the JCA’s activities during the past ten years and touched on the future plans for the development of cricket in this part of the world.
JCA Vice President Hamid Rana then further elaborated the details of JCA activities with a Power Point presentation. In his presentation every aspect of the professionally organized Saudi Premier League, during the past two years, was shown and explained.
The presentation then went on to explain JCA’s Vision 2020 and also the future plans for SPL’s third year, which is to commence soon. The JCA’s visionary plan for the fourth year was also shown and discussed with the executive committee already planning on ways to implement the new vision, which will be new dimension in organizing and developing cricket in Saudi Arabia.
Khaled Almaeena, managing partner of Quartz Communications and former Editor In chief of Arab News and Saudi Gazette and also the pioneer of cricket in the Kingdom and known as ‘The Soul Of Cricket’ for his outstanding support to cricketers and cricketing organizations in the Kingdom for the last four decades, was pleased to know about the JCA’s Vision 2020,. He lauded JCA for smoothly conducting other cricketing activities during the last ten years.
He praised the dedicated services of JCA Chairman Ibrahim Badawi, Vice Chairman Syed Humayun Farooq, Jaber Patel, overseas patron, CEO Muhammad Iqbal, Director Samir Nidal Khan, President Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Vice President Hamid Rana, A.A.Merchant, internal auditor, and the executive secretary Haroon Abdullah Bin Mahfouz, whose brainchild was Saudi Premier League.
JCA Executive Committee members present in the meeting were Muhammad Iqbal, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Hamid Rana, Syed Arif Hashmy, Syed Ashfaque Hussain and Zaheer Peeran.
JCA CEO Iqbal thanked the chief patron Almaeena, Ramnarayan and Bukhari for their presence during this presentation and said JCA valued their constant support.
