ASIR — A man, who was murdered by his wife, was ironically killed on the same day of the same month of the death of his first wife three years ago.

Ali Mudi was murdered by his second wife on Saturday in Al-Dirs District in Mahayel Asir Governorate. The murderess was in her 30s. What was even more ironic was that the victim used to always post prayers for his deceased wife on the family group in WhatsApp.

Adel Mudi, the victim’s son aged 32 years old and who works as a nurse in the first aid health care center here, said the last time he had met his dad was at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the incident.

“My father was still alive when he was carried to the hospital. I saw him. He was drenched in a pool of his own blood. The doctors sutured the cut on his neck and he was transported to the x-ray ward. But en route to the war his breathing stopped. The nurses then wheeled him back to the trauma ward in order to resuscitate him, but he wasn’t responding. Blood meanwhile was coming out of the sewn wound and minutes later he died,” said Adel.

He added his dad was alive for two whole hours after his wound had been stitched and he was fully aware of his surroundings. He said the hospital could have saved his father but they were negligent.

“The murderess did not even attempt to escape from her heinous crime. She stayed at home till the police came and arrested her. She stabbed my father with a kitchen knife. My father married her a year ago and the official marriage contract is available in government records. Some people were saying that my father’s marriage to the murderess was unofficial but that is not true,” said Adel.

Ali Asiri, a neighbor of the deceased, said he was shocked by the whole incident. “He was a good man who served as an educator in our community and we are all mourning his death. He was like a big brother to us and everyone in the community knew he was a good man. My deep condolences to his family,” said Asiri.

Mahayel Asir Education Directorate former director Hashim Al-Hayani said he grieved the victim’s death and he prayed that he is in heaven. The body is still in Mahayel Asir Hospital morgue until the investigation is closed.
