JEDDAH – Aiming to develop the skills and abilities of its employees, Saudi Ground Services (SGS), the national provider of ground services to the aviation sector in the Kingdom, has announced through its academy the launch of 14 soft skills training programs for 2017 across all main stations and selected local stations around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The 14 training programs cover important administrative skills, including organization management, work ethics, time management, customer service, communication skills, training & coaching, problem solving, personal productivity, motivating employees, teamwork, middle management, leadership and influence, supervisory soft skills and meetings management.
The first phase of the program starts from today (Sept. 9) until Dec. 31, 2017.
During this phase, the academy will deliver 74 training courses, accommodating a total of 1,355 employees divided on all stations.
The courses include, Jeddah station and headquarter in Jeddah, with 16 training courses that will accommodate 320 seats. It will also cover Riyadh station with 14 courses and 380 seats, and Dammam station with 9 training courses and total of 180 seats. At Madinah station, the training courses will be 10 with 200 seats, and the rest of the internal stations will receive 25 training courses that will accommodate 375 employees.

Our training programs were set in accordance with well thought of and systematic plans,” said Qaid Bin Khalaf Al-Otaibi, SGS CEO.
Ahmed Abdulhafeez, Director General of SGS Training Academy, said "we have launched 14 soft administrative skills training programs; all meet the internationally accredited standards. In addition, we have acquired the full rights of these programs, as instructed by Mr. Qaid Al-Otaibi. These programs were divided according to overall need of each department, taking into consideration all organizational levels.”
"The programs are available to all administrative and operational staff with limited requirements that were set and approved by the company. At the end of each training program, the trainee will receive a certificate of attending an accredited training course from the company," Abdulhafeez added.
SGS Training Academy has made significant achievements in the field of training. During the first half of 2017, the Academy has trained 5,917 employees with a total of 492 training courses. — SG
