RIYADH
— Princess Latifa Bint Fahd Center in Riyadh has been instrumental in supporting poor patients through its humanitarian and charitable services.

The center has so far provided shelter to more than 3,700 sick people who came from outside Riyadh to receive treatment at King Fahd Medical City, in addition to extending them moral and material support.

The center’s philanthropic activities include making available to them accommodation and transportation facilities between the center and the Medical City. Moreover, the center makes special arrangements for people with special needs visiting the medical complex.

The center is playing this pioneering role in line with instructions from Princess Latifa Bint Fahd Bin Abdulaziz, Chairperson of the Women’s Council at Princess Anoud Bint Musaed Bin Jalawi Charity Foundation, to extend help to distressed sick people.

It also extends psychological and social rehabilitation services and seeks to address problems faced by outpatients visiting the medical city.

The center, which has become a great pillar of support to the sick and their relatives, makes all facilities available to them.

Princess Latifa Center launched its charitable housing program mainly to give shelter to the sick and their relatives who come to the city from far-away places for treatment.

Turki Bin Abdulrahman Al-Hussein, supervisor of the center, said there has been a noticeable increase in the number of people benefiting from the services being extended by the center.

The center served 500 men, 450 women and 240 children during the year 2009-2010. It gave shelter to 720 men, 540 women and 300 children in 2011 while it served a total of 680 people in 2012 and 358 people during the current year.

At present, the center is undergoing expansion work to accommodate more patients.
