HILTON has confirmed it will be bringing its midscale Hilton Garden Inn brand to Jeddah in 2021 through a partnership with Distinguished Real Estate Arrows Company.

A deal has been agreed which will see construction of a new build six-storey tower block commence next month, with Hilton to being managing the property as a hotel by 2021. The announcement signals Hilton’s intend to extend its multi-brand offering in Jeddah, having been represented by its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand since 2001 and the luxury Waldorf Astoria since 2006.

Carlos Khneisser, Vice President, Development MENA for Hilton, said: "Hilton Garden Inn has a well established presence in Saudi Arabia, having pioneered its introduction to the Middle East with the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Riyadh Olaya in 2009. The mix of business travellers and domestic tourists visiting Jeddah make it ideally suited to quality midscale accommodation and this property will allow us to begin to serve a new section of the market in complement to our existing upscale and luxury offering.”

Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA Studio), Hilton Garden Inn Jeddah Hamad al Jaser Street will consist of 155 guest rooms, containing all of the brand’s signature features enjoyed by travellers at over 700 locations globally. Food and beverage facilities will include both an all day dining outlet and a lounge bar, while guests will also enjoy access to a business centre, gym and an outdoor swimming pool. Events space consists of three function areas of 230sqm and a custom built room available for smaller meetings. Hamd al Jaser Street itself is home to many retail outlets as well as office buildings.

Fouad Bin Abdallah Bin Mohammad Talha of Distinguished Real Estate Arrows Company said: “In diversifying our business in to the hotel sector it was important for us to work with a well known international operator with whom we can continue to build a partnership. We are confident that the market in Jeddah has a need for additional affordable hotel supply and hope to work with Hilton on a broader basis to spur further growth.”

Hilton has the largest active pipeline of any operator in Saudi Arabia with nearly 8,000 rooms under construction across the Kingdom. — SG
