Safeya Binzagr celebrates National Day with art show

JEDDAH — Saudi artist Safeya Binzagr launched her own art exhibition at the Boulevard on Wednesday to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s National Day.

The launching ceremony contained various authentic collections of Binzagr's painting representing the Saudi culture and heritage.

The exhibition embodied the splendor of the traditional costumes in different provinces of Saudi Arabia. Through her paintings, Binzagr aims to document and preserve the culture and traditions of Saudi Arabia.

Binzagr chose to display her unique works of art at the Boulevard on this important national occasion in order to showcase the heritage of Saudi Arabia.

Binzagr noted: “The Boulevard bought this collection of my painting, and they liked to display the traditional clothing in the middle of the modern to exhibit our heritage on the Saudi National Day”.

One of the visitors, Sa’ed Binzagr, expressed his happiness for attending the opening ceremony and said: “ I think this exhibition is an important one because it shows the way the people of the Arabian Peninsula used to wear various types of clothes.”

Sa’ed added: “I think the exhibition has great value because it captures a part of our history; it also captures a very important part of our culture. With art you can grow the mind and you can grow the spirit, and it is a very important part of any culture."
