40,000 attend festivities in Yanbu

YANBU — With the attendance of more than 40,000 people, Yanbu celebrated the 87th Saudi National Day by holding a number of activities including cultural and artistic events.

In line with the celebrations around the Kingdom, the Yanbu Historical Area hosted an event bringing visitors, citizens and expats together to renew their loyalty, fidelity and love for the country through fun-filled programs and activities targeting all segments of society.

The large audience witnessed live poetry presentations with narrators reading various poems conveying patriotism and citing stories from historic times. A number of pop vocalists serenaded the audience. There were several competitions enjoyed and participated by a large number of attendees, and the event culminated in fireworks display that lasted for more than 40 minutes.

Programs stretched across the historical area. The traditional Saudi sword dance was among the highlights.

Organizers aimed to provide nationals with a platform to express their deep love and gratitude to their leadership of the country.

The celebration were organized by the General Authority for Entertainment (GEA) in cooperation with the Tourism Development Council in Yanbu and executed by Benchmark.
