RIYADH — RCA Season 2017-2018 kicks off with AMEX T20 Cricket Tournament, which is sponsored by American Express Saudi Arabia and organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA). A total of 68 teams are participating in this event. The team have been divided into four leagues as Al-Kharj (8 teams), Huraymala (20), Hayer (20) and Diriyah (20).
Inauguration ceremony of the tournament was held at RCA Complex and was attended by RCA President and Chairman Executive Council of Saudi Cricket Centre Tariq Javed, RCA CEO Nadeem Babar along with other RCA executive committee members. A large number of representatives of RCA registered teams were also present. Speaking on the occasion Tariq Javed asked the teams and players to maintain discipline on and off the field during the season. Babar thanked RCA Patron in Chief, Prince General Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, for his continuous support for RCA. Seventeen matches were played on the opening day.
In Al-Kharj League, Sama Steel started the season with an emphatic win over Lahore Badshah by 79 runs. Sama Steel, taking the strike first, piled up 290-3, thanks mainly to the opening partnership of 204 runs between Asif Butt (97) and Ramzan Butt (88). Later Raja Ijaz added 45 and Usman 26. Awais picked up 2 wickets.
Lahore Badshah managed 211-8, in reply. Imran added 52, Mudassar 47 and Yassir 44. Kamran Hadi was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-39.
In Huraymala League, FAST CC won against Pak Force by 3 runs. FAST CC posted 196. Nouman added 69 and Fareed 37. Hamad and Kamal claimed 2 wickets each. Pak Force scored 193-6 in reply. Kamal added 65 and Kashif 35. Ayaz, Basharat and Quraish took 2 wickets each.
Pak Riderz CC beat Punjab Stars by 1 run in a thriller. Pak Riderz CC scored 217-5. Punjab Stars managed 216-6 in reply. Nasir Abbas added 90 and Arsalan 79.
KFSH Green thrashed Saudi Jaguars by 8 wickets. Jaguars, batting first, scored 192-4. Salman added 63 and Abdul Salam 56. Ubaid picked up 2 wickets. KFSH Green got to the target in 13.2 overs. Nasir scored 71 and Ubaid 47. Abdul Salam claimed 2 wickets.
Kashmir Strikers beat PTI Youth CC by 17 runs. Strikers posted 211-5. Samiullah top scored with 71. PTI Youth CC managed 194-5. Majid added 73 and Anam 63. Mushtaq grabbed 2 wickets.
Al-Harbi CC beat Riyadh Blues by 8 wickets. Riyadh Blues posted 178-8. Sadiq added 36. Fazal Elahi claimed 3 wickets while Shahid and Ali took 2 wickets each. Al Harbi CC won the match in 15.4 overs. Zahid scored 66 and Shahid 54. Yousouf picked up 2 wickets.
