MOI Security Spokesman: Two royal guard personnel martyred in Jeddah

RIYADH – Two security men were killed when the outer security checkpoint of the Royal Guard at Al-Salam Palace came under gun attack by a person, the shooter was killed. The gunfire resulted in the martyrdom of Sergeant Hammad Bin Shallah Al-Mutairi and Private First Class Abdullah Bin Faisal Al-Sibei.

Meanwhile, the injured royal guard personnel included Corporal Waleed Bin Ali Shaami, Private First Class Ahmed Saleh Al-Qarni and Private First Class Abdullah Hindi Al-Sibei.

The Interior Ministry Security Spokesman said they have been able to identify the shooter as Mansour Bin Hassan Bin Ali Al Fehaid Al-Amri, 28, a Saudi national. The security men found beside a Kalashnikov, three Molotov cocktails in his possession.

The Security Spokesman added that the security authorities are still conducting investigations and more details will be announced subsequently. - SPA
