RIYADH — Senior Congress leader Khaleeq Ur Rahman appreciated the Telangana government for establishing more equipped residential schools in the state.

He appealed to the NRIs from Telangana in Saudi Arabia to utilize this facility and get their children admitted in this school when they return back to India.

He was addressing the Telugu community at a felicitation given by All India United Society (AIUS) at Niagara Banquet Hall. He said that irrespective of political affiliation we should appreciate and benefit from the various schemes initiated by state and central governments.

Khaleeq advised NRI organizations to benefit from these schemes by registering their societies in India.

Referring to the current situation in Saudi Arabia and in view of the fact that many NRIs are shifting their families to India, he assured Telangana NRIs of his help and support in getting their children admitted to schools on their return to India.

He also said that those children, who leave school in the Kingdom in midst of the academic year and have not obtained the transfer certificate, should get the admissions in India without TC.

He also assured NRIs that he would make this representation to the adviser of minority affairs A.K. Khan to make sure that children of NRIs from Saudi Arabia get admission without TC.

Replying to a query about the combined accommodation of male and female Haj pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah, he assured the community that he would make a representation with the higher authorities to look into this matter.

He appreciated the NRI organizations in Saudi Arabia for their committed services to the Indian community in the Kingdom.

AIUS President Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali welcomed the gathering and appreciated the “Youth against speed” campaign by Khaleeq Ur Rahman in India and requested him to start its branch in Saudi Arabia.

After the death of his son following a road accident due to joy riding, he started the campaign to create awareness among youth against joy riding. He organizes many programs in India to educate the youth about the ill effects of speeding on bikes for joy or senseless dares.

DTM Mohammed Mubin appreciated Khaleeq Ur Rahman for being a down to earth, undisputed and clean politician and predicted a bright political career for him.

On this occasion Sultan Mazharuddin, MC member IISR, Mohammed Rafeeq, general manager, Mumtaz Group, Dr. Sayeed Mohiuddin, Aftab Nizami, K.N. Wasif, Mir Mohsin Ali also spoke.

Mohammed Azizuddin, vice president education, conducted the proceedings. Hafiz Khaja Aleemuddin recited few verses from the Holy Qur’an to set the ball rolling.

Khaleeq Ur Rahman was in Riyadh for two days on business. Different organizations hailing from Telangana feted him. Hyderabad Association, Golden Telangana Welfare Association, and Rida group felicitated him.

Mohammed Muzaffar (MUJJU) and Mohammed Waheed feted him at Rida Restaurant presenting him a traditional shawl and flower bouquets. Mohammed Farooq presented gift hamper, TNRIF and TAVA also presented him flower bouquets.
