RIYADH — The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties hired the first woman to occupy an executive position in the healthcare monitoring agency.
The commission hired Manal Al-Nasser as the executive director for vocational development under the commission.
Al-Nasser has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in nursing management and health management. She also has experience in managing medical education and inpatient care.
Al-Nasser has a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from King Faisal University and a Master's Degree in Health Care Management from Surrey University in the United Kingdom. She is about to complete her PhD program in continuous medical education.
She occupied a number of leading positions in several health organizations and leading universities, including the director of medical follow-up at King Fahd Medical City and the director of Higher Studies Training Center at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University under the Ministry of National Guard.
She also worked as the director of Higher Studies and Scholarships Department at King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital and was the executive director of Skills Development Center at Princess Nourah University. She attended and participated in numerous training programs.
Al-Nasser has 10 years' experience in planning and organizing training and educational events. She has been a member of numerous scientific and organizational committees for local and regional conferences. She has published numerous papers and has spoken at a number of local, regional and international conferences.
Al-Nasser was the first accredited hospital auditor and evaluator in the Kingdom and also the first accredited trainer of evaluators. She worked as a faculty member at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University where she developed a model for health quality management. She also worked for several local and national committees.
She contributed to the development of several strategic plans at King Fahd University, National Guard Health Affairs, Princess Nourah University and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha).
