JEDDAH — CIT Group will sponsor the Edition-3 of Saudi Premier League 2017-18 T-20 cricketing event organized under the auspices of Jeddah Cricket Association-JCA. This announcement was made by JCA and CIT Group after the signing of sponsorship agreement by both parties recently.

At the check hand-over ceremony at CIT headquarters, Naser Gulaid, CEO of CIT Group, thanked JCA for giving them an opportunity to be the main sponsor for the second year in succession and assured JCA management of its continuous support for the promotion of sports in general and JCA’s cricket activities in particular as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

JCA CEO Mohammed Iqbal and President Aijaz Ahmed Khan welcomed CIT Group as the main sponsor of SPL 2017-18 and assured the CIT management of a friendly, competitive and disciplined atmosphere during the course of the entire league, which will be widely covered by both local and international media in addition to elaborate coverage on social media platforms.

After the successful completion of two editions of Saudi Premier League, JCA’s SPL 2017-18 is scheduled to kick-off on Nov. 10 with final on Feb. 9 next year. Twelve (12) teams are participating and will play a round robin league with the top 4 teams qualifying for playoffs, comprising qualifier 1, eliminator, qualifier 2 and final to decide the winner and runner-up.

The sponsorship is bigger than previous year, so also are cash awards and weekly performance awards bigger. JCA expects other co-sponsors and the names will be announced shortly. SPL 2017-18 Cup will be unveiled at a ceremony, with active participation of CIT officials, co-sponsors, press personnel, JCA officials and participating clubs where the draws for the League will also be announced.
