Qassim man told to cough up SR445,000 in child support

BURAIDAH — A judge in Buraidah, Qassim province, ordered a man to pay SR445,000 to his ex-wife in child support, Al-Madinah newspaper reported.

The order came on a lawsuit against the man wherein woman claimed that her former husband has not been supporting her and her children financially.

The judge ruled in her favor making the man pay his past and future dues.

The amount the father has to pay to compensate for his past negligence is SR270,000. He also has to pay SR1,000 a month in child support for coming years. The father was also asked to pay SR30,000 annually to cover expenses for the family’s housing needs. He has also to cover the travel expenses of the family, taking the total compensation to SR445,000.

The father was given only five days to comply. If the father does not comply, the judge will place a travel ban and will block all government services to hims.
