MAKKAH – Attorney General Sheikh Saud Bin Abdullah Al-Muajab has issued directives to the head of the Public Prosecution in Makkah region and the head of Jeddah Circuit and all the branches of Public Prosecution in all regions authorizing them to arrest and investigate anyone holding any post, Okaz newspaper reported on Tuesday night.

These directives by the Attorney General follow the heavy rainfall in Jeddah and other governorates and regions of the Kingdom.

The Attorney General said that the judiciary in the Kingdom is carrying out its functions with full independence.

He said the public prosecution’s functions have been strengthened, as the Attorney General reports directly to the King, as per the recently issued royal order. — SG
