Saudi Arabia, Pakistan aim to buttress ties at bilateral meeting

JEDDAH — Ambassador of Pakistan Khan Hasham Bin Saddique met Saudi Minister for Commerce and Investment Majid A. Al-Qasabi at his office in Riyadh.

Speaking to Saudi Gazette on Monday, In view of Al-Qasabi's upcoming visit to Pakistan, the ambassador conveyed warm greetings of the country's leadership to him and apprised him of the preparations of the government to receive his delegation in Islamabad next week, Arshad Munir, consul (press) at the Consulate General of Pakistan, told Saudi Gazette.

He said the ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their keenness in enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.

Munir said Al-Qasabi reaffirmed the commitment of the Saudi leadership to further strengthening bilateral ties with Pakistan.

Satisfied at the preparations for the 11th Session of the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Commission scheduled to be held in Islamabad from Nov. 28-30, Al-Qasabi expressed optimism on the trajectory of bilateral relations and hoped that the two countries would be able to agree on tangible and time-based outcomes.

The ambassador thanked Al-Qasabi for his keen interest in the Joint Ministerial Commission. He agreed with the minister that the two sides needed to deepen the existing relationship and also discover new and concrete avenues of cooperation.

Al-Qasabi is the co-chair of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Commission. He will lead a 27-member delegation, comprising senior Saudi officials.

Pakistan's delegation to the meeting will be led by the country's minister for commerce.

At the meeting spanning over three days, the two sides are expected to hold discussions encompassing all facets of bilateral cooperation with a view to strengthening and diversifying them.
