RIYADH — Eighty-four golf-loving bankers and corporate executives gathered at Dirab Golf & Country Club Saturday morning for the 3rd Xerox BFI Ryder Cup Match 2017 with the morning sun spilling warmth all over the beautiful gathering.
The golfers had fun out on the course on this lovely spring day, with SAMA & Finance Companies scoring an emphatic victory over Banks and Insurance in the four ball better ball match play format Ryder Cup competition. The scoreline was 13-7 points in favor of SAMA & Finance team captained by Tariq Javed.
The Banks and Insurance team, captained by Abdulaziz Al Helesi were runner-up. Helesi egged his team to do their best but failed to match the stronger SAMA & Finance Companies team. With the camaraderie and fervor that matched the moment, he quipped, “Make me your captain again next year, and I assure you, you will not be disappointed”. The teams cheered and applauded the spirit.
Other awards were given to Waheed Aslam for closest to the pin (unisex), and for the longest drive (unisex) Ms. Paromita Mukherjee was awarded the prize.
Dirab Golf & Country Club thanked all the participants and especially thanked Xerox Saudi Arabia who supported and sponsored the event. Xerox Saudi Arabia team was headed by Ehab Guindi AVP Tech. Division & MD, Ahmed El Kasaby - marketing director, Ms. Noor Al Bakry - compliance & WeCare manager, Zamil A. Kasim - marketing manager and the rest of the marketing sales & customer care teams.
