JEDDAH — Members and workers of Pakistan People’s party (PPP) and Peoples Youth Organization (PYO) Saudi Arabia jointly celebrated the 50th foundation day (Golden Jubilee) of PPP at Kababish restaurant Azizia district.
Syed Riaz Hussain Bukhari, ex-president PPP Saudi Arabia and convener Pakistan National Solidarity Forum (PNSF), presided over the gathering while senior Vice President Jawaid Malik was chief guest.
Tasawar Hussain Choudhry chief organizer, Asad Akram media coordinator Middle East, and Khalid Gujjar chairman PYO were guests of honor.
Riaz Bukhari, while praising Zulfiqar Bhutto in his address, highlighted the PPP’s democratic struggle and said that “PPP is Pakistan’s biggest political party founded by the visionary Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on Nov. 30, 1967, during a period of immense darkness, to counter a dictatorship that was sucking the lifeblood of our beloved homeland.”
He congratulated and thanked all the guests including members from Pakistan Muslim Leagues-Nawaz (PML-N), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), PML-Q, Muslim Conference, Kashmir Committee (KC) Jeddah, business community and other representatives from cultural, social, welfare and literally forums who attended the function to express national solidarity.
Javed Malik paid tribute to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s political struggles and praised political insight of chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He also praised Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, services for the democracy in country.
Nausherwan Khattak, president ANP Saudi Arabia, congratulated PPP workers and praised Z. A, Bhutto visions and beliefs. That day is not far when PPP will once again will be in power and run the government and PPP leaders will serve the people, he added.
Speakers included Ghulam Murtaza, Sardar Ayaz, Iftikhar Siraj, Khalid Gujjar, Asad Akram and Tasawar Choudhry and the recurring theme in their speech was, while celebrating a remarkable 50 years of foundation we should renew our commitments, determination and energy for the party.
Earlier the program started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Mohammed Niaz, Naat by Zamurrad Saifi and Poem by Aftab Turabi. The National anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were played. Kaleem Khan conducted the ceremony. The guests and workers cut the Golden Jubilee ceremonial cake.
