Al-Hateem, Madinah Eagle, Taiba and Pak United in MCL semis

MADINAH — Al-Hateem will face Madinah Eagle and Pak United will go head to head with Taiba Eleven in the semifinals of Madinah Cricket League SCC T20 Cup tournament.

Al Hateem defeated UCC, as Al Hateem’s Mudassir smashed a 39-ball 88 followed by Arslan Mushtaq, who scored 45, for a mammoth total of 248 in 20 overs. Shahbaz and Tariq took a wicket each. UCC’s Nasir Khan threatened to take the game away with his 36-ball 83 and Waheed’s blinder of 45 off 19. But Irfan Hamza took a hat trick and Arslan grabbed 2 wickets to ensure Al Hateem’s semifinal spot.

Awali Kings were held to a paltry total of 133 by Pak United. Faisal and Tariq scored 38 and 41 respectively. Ali Sikander took 4 wickets and Bilal Khan 3 wickets. In reply, United’s Abbas Nadwi hit 35 and Kashif Awan cracked 41 to book United’s berth in the semis. Qaiser and Baber took a wicket each.

Taiba were boosted by Madni, who hit 28, and Abdullah, who scored 35, in their total of 159 against Youngstar. Mahmood, Saleem and Tahir took 2 wickets each. In reply, Youngstar’s defensive play cost them. Abdullah and Saleem scored 30 each but their side fell 19 runs short. Mazhar, Barkat, Akram and Hassan took 2 wickets each.

MCH were given an excellent start by Musawwir (46) and Asif Sager (69). With the exception of Miraj, who scored 33, none contributed as MCH posted 177/5 in 20 overs. Sadaqat and Daud took 2 wickets each. Hashim led the Madinah Eagle’s charge with an aggressive 67 runs, and Nouman lent support with 45 runs for the win. Rafaqat and Shoaib took 2 wickets.
