Within a short period of time, the Kingdom has managed to achieve some of its Vision 2030 goals. This has happened due to the leadership of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman. He has succeeded in accelerating the steps toward development that will eventually lead to achieving the goals of Vision 2030.
The vision contains a number of goals that we need to achieve. It also includes milestones by which all of the goals should be achieved and at a high standard. In fact, the vision seeks to make our society knowledge-based. We, therefore, should be ready to witness the coming economic and developmental revolution that is being led by Crown Prince Muhammad.
He is leading Saudi Arabia’s Council of Economic and Development Affairs and observing the performance of governmental and private agencies. Maybe that is the reason we are witnessing so many restrictions and have the need to fight corruption in these agencies. This is in addition to the anti-corruption committee that was recently formed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
We have witnessed, for the very first time in the Kingdom’s history, the arrest of many princes and businessmen on accusations of corruption. They have even been stopped from traveling and have been summoned for further investigations.
The entire Kingdom has also witnessed Crown Prince Muhammad assuring the nation in an interview on Al-Arabiya that every single person who is corrupt will be punished regardless of who he is. With that said, the issue of corruption, which is the largest obstacle in the face of the Kingdom’s development, is finally being addressed.
All of these efforts by the Saudi leadership are comforting Saudi society and reassuring us that the long-awaited justice and goals of Vision 2030 are sooner or later going to be achieved. However, what we really wish for is to see these efforts successfully continue.
We would also like to see development in education at all levels. Moreover, we would like to see, as a first step, more scientific bodies, in partnership with specialist factories, being built for the Saudi and Gulf market. We are hoping to hear the decision on this in the near future from the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
