JEDDAH
— Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar, deputy emir of Makkah region, on Sunday evening visited the closing day of the Jeddah Young Businessmen Exhibition. In an open discussion with around 400 youths he stressed on the various opportunities that the Western Region has. He called on the youth to benefit from these opportunities and invest in them. He also shared with them his experience of working for Al-Riyadh governorate along with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman who used to be the emir of Riyadh back then. The Riyadh governorate was an open school, he said, where he learned how best to use time and serve the country. He said passion is a key to success and stressed that Makkah governorate is ready to support youth in any proposed development project.

Among the booths which gained popularity at the event is Smart Methods Company. The company displayed a robot that serves Arabic coffee once it detects a face. The robot can even use both hands to imitate the traditional method of holding the pot with the left hand and the cup with the right hand. The robot will pour over only the exact specified amount then it will open a drawer to serve a date biscuit with the Arabic coffee. Wessam Munshi, CEO of Smart Methods, who with his colleagues developed the robot, said it can serve Arabic coffee to the public and can work well under pressure.

Officials from the ministry of labor have also commended an initiative by Princess Hissa Center for Social Responsibility which was participating at the exhibition.

The center used to give a box of food products to each registered needy family. Now Khalriya from the center said they have created a supermarket and all registered members can come and pick up only what they needs with a specified amount. By this, she said, they have stopped any waste of food. "If some one does not need sugar for this month she may take flour, cornflakes or coffee instead," she said.
