JEDDAH — The city is expected to host Jeddah 3x3 Basketball Championship for people with special needs next Friday for the first time. This championship is held under the supervision of the General Sports Authority, Saudi Basketball Federation and Jeddah Club for People with Special Needs.
The championship hopes to change the typical methods in organizing sports events by adding an awareness element to encourage doing sports in an enjoyable atmosphere. They also opt to highlight the achievements of people with special need.
The championship will be organized for six days at Red Sea Mall to allow families to enjoy the different activities offered.
Muhammad Al-Khamis, head organizer of the championship, said they want to implement a social initiative that discovers the talent of people with special needs, increase their awareness about sports and entertain them. He added that they target various layers of the society, visitors, rehabilitation centers, charity organizations and health clubs.
