RIYADH
— The Traffic Department has shut down a driving school in Makkah permanently after several violations were proved, Al-Watan newspaper reported.

The driving school was given a period of six months to rectify its status but it did not comply.

The Traffic Department is running an inspection campaign on all driving schools in the Kingdom to ensure that they comply with the department's regulations.

Driving schools committing a violation for the first time will receive a written notice from the department and a fine. If the violation is committed again, the penalty increases. If the school refuses to cooperate and rectify its status, the department will shut it down permanently and terminate its license.
