Indian expats mark 69th Republic Day by donating blood

JEDDAH
— A section of the Indian community, TNTJ (Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath)— a social organization from India, here celebrated country’s 69th Republic Day by donating blood to commemorate the day and express patriotism in a way that could help others and save lives.

Around 157 members of TNTJ, gathered on Friday (Jan. 26) at the King Abdul Aziz Hospital at Mahjar area and 135 donors donated their blood.

Mohammed Munaff, president of TNTJ Jeddah Region, said, “The members decided to celebrate the Republic Day in a unique style by organizing a blood donation camp in Jeddah. We did that to honor the heroes of India’s freedom struggle.”

“We set an example for other fellow Indians to follow by conducting this kind of blood donation campaigns to mark our country’s Republic Day and Independence Day in a useful manner,” Munaff added.

Salahudeen, camp organizer & secretary of TNTJ Jeddah region, said, “The entire procedure took less than 30 minutes for each donor from the general health check till blood donation.

The Jeddah chapter of Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath (TNTJ), a social organization from the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, has conducted many Blood Donation Drives.

The group maintains to be the No. 1 organization in blood donation in Tamil Nadu and most of the GCC countries. Tamil Nadu government has awarded a number of awards appreciating its social concern to serve humanity.
