Sialkot XI, Thales and Riyadh Warriors Yellow RCA champs

RIYADH — Sialkot XI, Thales and Riyadh Warriors Yellow emerged champions in their respective sections of the tournament, organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) and sponsored by Saudi Arabian Investment Bank (SAIB). Al-Kharj League final was played earlier which was won by Pak Shaheen.

In Huraymala League T20 final, Sialkot XI beat White Star CC by 5 wickets in a closely-contested match. White Star CC electing to bat first posted 217-6. Ashiq top scored with 93 off 50 balls, while Umar added 56 off 32 balls. Mohammed Jamil picked up 2 wickets. Sialkot XI won the match in 19.1 overs as Nadeem made 42, Amjad 34, Ali 30 and Yassir 26. Naeem claimed 2 wickets.

Man of the Final — Mohammed Jamil; Man of the Tournament — Nadeem Arif (Sialkot XI, 391 runs and 12 wickets); Top Run Scorer — Asif Khan (Riyadh Warriors Blue CC, 484 runs); Top Wicket-taker — Salman Shahid (Al-Harbi CC, 16 wickets).

In Hayer League final, Thales CC defeated Swat Tigers CC by 18 runs in another thriller. Thales, taking the strike first, managed 180-9. Najamul Saqib hit 64 and Ali 28. Anwar and Qaiser picked up 2 wickets each. Swat Tigers were restricted to 162-9. Shahzad made 43 and Sardar Ali 25. Abdul Khader and Moeen bagged 3 wickets each, while Shujah took 2.

Man of the Final — Najamul Saqib; Man of the Tournament — Zakir Hussain (Green Bangla CC, 377 runs and 11 wickets); Top Run Scorer — Rizwan Khan Niazi (Riyadh Zalmi CC, 459 runs); Top Wicket-taker — Abu Musa (Green Bangla CC, 17 wickets).

In Diriyah League final, Riyadh Warriors Yellow got the better of Raavi CC by 2 wickets in another tight finish. Raavi CC, batting first, was all out for 156. Tanweer scored 34 and Adnan 29. Zahid Riyaz grabbed 5-19 in his 4 overs. Riyadh Warriors Yellow hit the winning runs on the last ball of the match. Abdul Raheem and Mirza Ayub contributed 35 each, while Waseem added 33. Shahzad claimed 2 wickets.

Man of the Final — Zahid Riyaz; Man of the Tournament — Uzair Amin Khan (Knight Hawks CC, 304 runs and 15 wickets); Top Run Scorer — Mohammed Abubaker (Raavi CC, 420 runs); Top Wicket-taker — Naveed Hassan Khan (KAMS IndoPak CC, 14 wickets).

After the finals, a grand prize distribution ceremony was hosted by RCA General Secretary Nasir Abbasi. Graham Gunn, Senior Vice President of SAIB, was the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by President RCA/Chairman EC SCC Tariq Javed, Qasim Naqwi from SCC, Sarfraz Ahmed from YACA and Tahir Karamat from EPCA. RCA CEO Nadeem Babar, SVP Abdul Kareem Khan and other RCA Executive Committee members were also present.

Chief guest Gunn appreciated the efforts of RCA for organizing such a wonderful event. RCA President Javed thanked the RCA Executive Committee members for their continuous efforts for the promotion of cricket in the region.
