JEDDAH — The CYS Forum, an international activity organized by the General Sport Authority to motivate young Saudis to enter the field of sports, concluded at King Abdullah Sports City on Thursday.

The first-of-its-kind forum turned out to be an interactive platform between young Saudis and several Saudi sports icons. The participants also had an opportunity to experience various outdoor activities during the forum.

More than 20 Saudi sports celebrities, including Adwa Al-Dhakeel, Lina Almaeena and Muna Shihab, took to the stage and talked about their experiences.

CYS Forum aimed at increasing awareness about different sporting activities. It showcased a variety of sport communities, gyms, clubs and organizations.

One of the participating sports communities was Jeddah Running Collective (JRC). Arwa Alamoudi, a member of JRC, said: “We are a non-profit organization founded in 2013. Our vision and goal is to make the sport of running accessible and available for everyone. No matter what their gender, age or experience level, we welcome everyone to join our community.”

Alamoudi added: “We want to introduce people to the sports of running and make them try it. We would like to have a bigger community and we also want to develop the skills of our existing members. Our focus is to improve the running skills of our members and to spread the culture of running in the community.”
