MADINAH — Batsmen excelled in the SCC T20 Champions League-2018, organized by Madinah Cricket League (MCL) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) here.

Al-Hateem defeated Lahore Badshah by 5 wickets. Opting to bat first, Lahore Badshah was led by Sajjad who scored a brilliant 76 off 36 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes. Habib contributed 40 to reach a good total of 224. Zain took a couple of wickets. In reply, Al-Hateem chased down the total as Hammad Saeed hammered 86 from just 33 balls with 7 fours and 8 sixes. Mudasir (51) played with ease and helped his team win the match by 5 wickets. Fahad took 4 wickets.

UCC prevailed over Young Star by 4 wickets. Young Star won the toss and put on 142-8. Moshin scored 62, followed by Dilshad (20) to reach 142-8. Khuram Shahzaad claimed four wickets. In reply, UCC made the required runs easily with Shabaaz scoring 39 and Imran 37. UCC won the match by 4 wickets. Imran grabbed 3 wickets.

PRCC defeated MBC Stars by 18 runs. PRCC batted its opposition out of the game by posting a mammoth 191-6, courtesy of Khuram who scored 67 off just 35 deliveries which included 14 sixes. Ajmal hit 37. In reply, MBC Stars were always behind in the chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jameel scored 67 and Emon 32. But they fell short by 18 runs. Khuram took 3 wickets, while Hamza and Hammad got 2 each.

Madinah Warrior lost to Binladen XI by 4 wickets. Raees top scored for Madinah Warrior with 59 in its total of 169. Furqaan grabbed 3 wickets, while Atif and Tanveer claimed 2 each. In reply, Binladen XI chased down the total successfully. Atif belted 94 from 49 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes. Mudasir batted comfortably for 30 and helped his team win by 4 wickets. Suman took 2 wickets.

Sahiwaal XI thrashed MCH Eagles by 7 wickets. For MCH Eagles, Qasim Butt scored 42, followed by Zahid (23) to reach a total of 162. Faheem took 3 wickets. In reply, Sahiwaal XI reached the required target easily with Tariq scoring 52 and M. Faheem 53. It won the match by 7 wickets.

Sky Wars downed Evergreen Madinah by 31 runs. Sky Wars won the toss and elected to bat first. Abdul Rehman played an aggressive innings of 45. Yousaf scored 26 to help the team reach 180-7. Rafiq picked up 2 wickets. In reply, Evergreen Madinah fell short of the target by 31 runs. Adeel made a fighting 35 with little support from his teammates. Sahid took 3 wickets. — SG
