RIYADH — Khalili, Finfa, Kokan, MGC and King of Apparels conquered the season’s finest finals as Amaq T-20 tournament 2017/18 came to the exemplary end. The tournament is organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) and sponsored by Amaq Contracting Co.
In The Super League:
Khalili Stars prevailed over Mehran Spices CC and won their maiden super cup. Batting first Mehran Spices managed 135 runs. Shahjee topscored and was well supported by Rehan while Heera was the pick of the bowlers. In reply, Khalili Stars’ Ali gave a blistering start and made quick runs while the middle order contributed handy runs and accomplished the title in 16 overs.

In The Premier League Green:
Finfa Warriors CC beat Run Riderz CC by 6 wickets. Batting first Run Riderz CC posted 172 in 18 overs. Akmal batted beautifully and was well supported by Abdul Wahab while Nishad bragged crucial wickets. In reply, Finfa Warriors CC middle order Ehsan and Nishad showed some excellent batting display after early fall of wickets and completed the win with 3 balls to spare while Samran showed excellent line and length with the ball.
Brief Scores (Premier Green): Run Riderz CC 172/9: (Abdul Wahab 34, Akmal 29; Nishad 3 wkts) lost to Finfa Warriors CC 173/4 (Ehsan 56*, Nishad 50*; Samran 1 wkt) by 6 wickets. Man of the Match: Mohammed Nishad.
In The Premier League Blue:
Kokan Green CC defeated SNS Diamond I CC. After losing toss, SNS Diamond I CC were put in to bat first and scored very convincing 204 runs in 20 overs. Taib Afzal and Hyder were the top contributors while Siraj was the pick of the bowlers. In reply, Kokan Green CC openers made some quick runs as Adil Qureshi scored brilliantly along with Mansoor Naik and the game finished in the final over as Shakeel bagged top wickets at the death overs. It was a thrilling final as the Kokan prevailed with 1 ball remaining.

In The Premier League Yellow:
MGC CC edged Young Evergreen CC by 1 run. In one of the exciting finals. MGC CC tallied 206 runs as Nadeem Jarrah contributed with the bat along with Nadeem Arif while Saqib grabbed crucial wickets. In reply, Young Evergreen CC Ansar Javed and Atif were the top scorers with the bat while Nadeem Jarrah was the pick of the bowlers.
Brief Scores (Premier Yellow): MGC CC 206/10 (Nadeem J 52, Nadeem A 42; Saqib 5 wkts) defeated Young Evergreen CC 205/9 (Ansar 96, Atif 45 runs; Nadeem J 3 wkts) by 1 run. Man of the Match: Nadeem Jarrah.
In The Premier League Orange:
King of Apparels CC crushed Gujral CC by 30 runs. King of Apparels totaled 174 runs in 20 overs as Prakash contributed with the bat while Saqib bagged top wickets. In reply, Gujral CC failed to conquer their maiden finals and were restricted to 144 runs as openers Waqas and Zaki showed some resilience as wickets fell at regular intervals while Tabrez was the pick of the bowlers.
Brief Scores (Premier Orange): King of Apparels CC 174/7 (Prakash 44, Matin 28; Saqib 3 wkts) beat Gujral CC 144/9 (Waqas 66, Zaki 25 runs; Tabrez 3 wkts) by 30 runs. Man of the Match: Prakash Nagaraj.
After the finals, a very grand prize distribution ceremony was hosted by RCL General Secretary Khawar Zafar. Shamshad Siddiqui, director of Amaq Contrcting Co, was the Guest of Honor. The ceremony was also attended by guests Rana Tariq, Shahbaz Siddiqui, Dr Muhammed Idris and other invitees. RCL CEO Salman Jawad Al Khalifa, SVP Hanif Babar and other executive committee members were also present.
Siddiqui appreciated the efforts of RCL for organizing such a magnificent event and also cherished the promotion and development of cricket in Riyadh region. RCL Senior Vice President Babar thanked the RCL Executive Committee members for their endless determinations and felicitated them with special awards. RCL CEO Salman Jawad Al Khalifa thanked Patron in Chief Prince Sultan Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his provisions along with Deputy Patron in Chief Jawad Salman Al Khalifa for their support to the RCL cricketing fraternity.
Dr Muhammed Idris was felicitated along with his medical services team for the Ambulance and Medical services on the RCL grounds and for their continuous efforts in treating the players in case of injuries at the location. — SG
