AL KHOBAR — The Filipino Dentist in KSA – Eastern Region (FDK-ER) are offering a monthlong free dental care at three prominent schools namely International Philippine School in Al Khobar, Al Majd International School Dammam and Al Andalus International School Dammam for the students among grade 4, 5 and 6.
The mobile clinic is being organized in cooperation with RAM Dental Care and the members of the Filipino Dentist, who contributed for the dental kits of all the participants.
The FDK-KSA organization is committed to help Filipino community in the Kingdom by conducting free dental clinics and promoting good oral health, assisting “under board” dentists who work as Dental Assistant to avail of refresher courses for their licensure examination in the Kingdom through the SPLE (Special Professional Licensure Examinations), conduct seminars to update its members on the latest technology in the field of Dentistry, foster camaraderie in work-related experience among its members.
A total of 10 Filipino dentists and four dental assistants volunteered to provide free services during the 2nd FDK-ER Dental Health Month in line with the 14th Philippine Dental Association National Dental Health Month with the theme “Ngiping inaruga mula pagkabata, Malusog na ngiti, baon sa pagtanda”.
Dr. Felizarda C. Adriano, former vice president and currently one of the advisers of FDK-ER, said, “Tto put our mission in action, our group is preparing to provide lectures on good oral health habits to educate them the importance of oral health awareness and care.”
Oral Health Awareness Lecture will be conducted by one of the organization’s adviser Dr. Rhona Montenegro-Sonsona as part of their activities.
“The goal is to promote the importance of maintaining good oral health. Once you have a decayed teeth, it is already considered a serious matter. You must give attention on how to take care of your teeth,” added Dr. Arsenia Valera-Javier, VP for FDK-ER 2017-2018.
