RIYADH
— Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Tuesday reiterated that Saudi Arabia will counter decisively any hostile attempts targeting the Kingdom’s security and stability as well as the safety of its citizens and expatriates.

Chairing the weekly session of the Council of Ministers at Al-Yamamah Palace, the King thanked leaders of several countries for their condemnation of the ballistic missile attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia.

Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Assam Bin Saad said the Cabinet lauded the success and efficiency of Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces in intercepting and destroying ballistic missiles fired indiscriminately from Yemeni territories targeting civilian and populated areas in the Kingdom.

The Cabinet said the criminal aggression by the Iran-backed Houthi militias proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting Houthis in clear violation of UN resolutions 2216 and 2231.

“It also demonstrates the destructive role played by Iran in Yemen by smuggling missiles to terrorist militias to be used against civilians in Yemen and the Kingdom,” the Cabinet said.
