MAKKAH — Field inspectors of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development have organized about 96,000 inspection tours on malls, commercial centers and shops in various regions of the country to assess their commitment to the decision to feminize and nationalize jobs in shops selling women's dress and accessories, according to Makkah Arabic newspaper.

The ministry's spokesman Khalid Aba Al-Khail said about 79,300 establishments, representing about 83 percent, have honored the decision while 16,400, or 17 percent, have not.

He said the inspection teams discovered 13,300 violations during the visits. The violations included 4,200 cases (31 percent of the total) where jobs were not Saudized while 7,300 cases (55 percent) involved failure to feminize of jobs.

Aba Al-Khail said the remaining cases represented various violations.

The third phase of the feminization and nationalization of jobs in women accessories dress shops was launched in November 2017.

It covered the shops selling perfumes, shoes, stockings, bags and ready-made garments, in addition to kiosks selling women accessories.

The third phase also included the stand alone shops selling wedding gowns, abayas, garments, and child-care and pharmaceutical items.
