RIYADH – A ballistic missile fired by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia fell on the Yemeni side of the border on Monday evening.

Col. Turki al-Malki, spokesman of the Coalition Forces supporting the legitimacy in Yemen, said that the missile was in the direction of the Kingdom’s border region of Dhahran Al-Junoub.

“At around 5.26 p.m., the air defense forces of the Coalition spotted the launch of a ballistic missile by the Houthi militia from the Yemeni territory of Saada. It fell at a distance of 1.75 km from the southern border of the Kingdom,” he said.

Al-Malki said that the missile was deliberately launched to target civilian and populated areas.

He said this hostile action by the Houthi militias proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the armed Houthi militia in clear and explicit violation of the UN resolutions 2216 and 2231.
