CBSE Cluster Meet kicks off in Jeddah

JEDDAH
— Football and volleyball matches kicked off the first phase of the 22nd Cluster Meet of CBSE-affiliated schools, Saudi Arabia Chapter, at the International Indian School Jeddah Sunday.

 


In the opening football match IIS Dammam beat Al-Mawarid International School Jeddah 4-3, while IIS Jubail blanked Yara International School Riyadh 7-0.

 


In the volleyball competition IIS Riyadh beat Al-Warood International School 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-170); while the second match saw IIS Jubail beat Al-Yasmeen International School Riyadh 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-15).

 


The Cluster Meet was officially flagged off at the IISJ auditorium amidst thunderous applause of the contingents from eight schools across the Kingdom by Consul (Culture and Commercial) and Observer of IISJ Shakeel Ahmed, the chief guest of the ceremony.

 


The Chapter Convener, principal of the host school Syed Masood Ahmed, in his key-note address urged the participants to show sportsmanship and camaraderie during the competition.

 


The chairman of the managing committee, Dr. Khursheed Akhtar, and members of the committee also graced the occasion.

 


An enthralling cultural program, prepared to boost sportsman spirit among the participants, was presented by 62 students from III-V Block. The Phase I of the meet will conclude with a ceremony scheduled at IISJ Wednesday evening (7.30 P.M.). — SG
