JEDDAH — For the second year in a row, Petromin, the leading company in lubricants and automotive services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, conducted its 2nd annual marathon 2018, aiming to encourage the culture of sports in the Saudi society.
More than 1000 runners including men, women, children, and special needs took part in the 1000-4000-meter marathon which took place at King Abdullah Sports City. The event was organized by Activity Time and sponsored by Nissan.
Commenting on the occasion, Samir Nawar, CEO of Petromin, said: “We are pleased to be here today to celebrate winners of Petromin’s first marathon that comes in line with Petromin’s second anniversary celebration of being Nissan’s Kingdom-wide authorized dealer and Petromin’s keenness on better health for everyone as one of its priorities toward the society and its employees as well. The wide interest Petromin Marathon received is reflected in the large numbers and enthusiasm of participants and we believe that it has encouraged them to become healthier and physically active”.
He noted that this sports activity in order to enhance Petromin’s social responsibility by continuously encouraging programs and events will help to build a healthy society.
He added: “We wanted to celebrate this exciting occasion in the best way to raise awareness of sports and healthcare to serve this great country. The marathon has succeeded in spreading our message to the society and encourage men, women, and children to exercise for better health.”
An honoring ceremony took place at the end of the marathon to recognize the winners of each group. All entrants who managed to complete the marathon were given the chance to be enrolled into a lucky draw to win two brand new Nissan Sunny cars from Petromin Nissan and the winners were Khalid Amin Mubarak and Shahad Mohammed Noor.a
